About

Hey ya'll, and welcome!  I am a Mother to one very handsome human, and many adorable pets.  I am also a daughter (to the coolest parent's ever), a sister, Aunt, animal lover/rescuer, friend, writer, part-time comedian (just kidding).  I am extremely spontaneous, completely random, kinda dorky, a tiny bit stubborn, have a gypsy soul, and am very passionate about life.  I laugh - a lot, especially at myself.  I am forever the optimist.  There is always a bright side, and you bet.. I will find it!  I try my best to inspire, lift, and encourage others. My Dad calls me Elizabeth, my Mom calls me by my sister's name 90% of the time..I'll answer to just about anything. My favorite name is Mom. I recently became an empty-nester (much sooner than I envisioned), which has made life very different, but has also made life quite interesting and exciting after an adjustment period. As much as we think we are ready, I don't think our hearts can ever fully prepare us for our children to leave the nest. I am a future Ag teacher, a runner, weight lifter, spiritualist, chicken keeper, dog Mom, gardener, and I recycle just about everything. I enjoy watching movies - especially the scary ones...and I love getting lost in a good book.  Browsing antique shops is my jam.  I love to travel, and get the itch to wander and explore every few months or so..I love being adventurous while learning and exploring new things.  It's so fun to play the tourist, but also exciting to go somewhere you've never been and act like you've lived there your whole life.  I love being outdoors..hiking, kayaking, simply wandering, getting lost, and taking in all the beauty and magic that surrounds us.  The woods..mountains, rivers, lakes -  some of the best places to find inner peace. I have nine of the most precious pets that definitely hold my heart!!  Two Westie's -  Brodie and Winston, and a Great Dane named Scuba..He was rescued from doggie "death row" and is seriously the most obedient dog I've ever had.  All of my dogs are seniors...not sure what I would do without any of them.  I have six laying hens -  Hazel, Agnes, Stella, Cora, Myrtle, and June. I am so very thankful to the Good Lord everyday for blessing me with such a wonderful, happy, healthy, beautiful life. I have been blogging since February 2012.  Thank you so much for stopping by to read about life The Way I See it.
